Dwayne Johnson (born 02.05.1972) Dwayne Johnson is a WWE wrestler (known in the ring as The Rock) and actor. Dwayne Johnson: Childhood Dwayne Johnson was born in Hayward, California. His parents are Ata Johnson and Rocky Johnson, also a professional wrestler. He lived in Auckland, New Zealand for a while and attended Richmond Road Primary School before returning to the US where he attended President William McKinley High School in Honolulu, Hawaii. The family then moved to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania where he attended Freedom High School and became a member of the football, track and field and wrestling teams. He later got a scholarship from the University of Miami to play football and graduated with a Bachelor of General Studies degree in criminology and physiology. In 1991, he was on the Miami Hurricanes' national championship team and later joined the Calgary Stampeders in the Canadian Football League in 1995. Dwayne Johnson: Wrestling career Dwayne Johnson is from a family full of professional wrestlers. He first tried out for WWF (World Wrestling Federation) in 1996 defeating The Brooklyn Brawler under his real name. He soon signed a contract with them after co-winning the USWA World Tag Team Championship as Flex Kavana. He became Rocky Maivia (a cross between his father and his grandfather's ring names) and was hailed as WWF's first third-generation wrestler. He made his WWF debut at Survivor Series in an eight-man elimination tag match and was the last man standing. In 1997, he won the WWF Intercontinental Championship but he was often disliked by his audiences. He then lost the Championship to Owen Hart and became The Rock and then formed a stable known as 'The Nation of Domination' alongside Faarooq, D'Lo Brown and Kama but in 1998 The Rock usurped Faarooq's title as the stable leader which sparked a feud. The Rock has defended his Intercontinental title against Stone Cold Steve Austin, Faarooq and Triple H before becoming a contender for the WWF Championship title after defeating Ken Shamrock and Mankind in a cage fight. Another feud in The Nation soon ended the stable. He soon gained popularity and dubbed himself 'The People's Champion'. He then feuded with promoter Vince McMahon and thus fought and defeated his associate Mankind. He then allied with Vince and became a part of their stable The Corporation. The WWF Championship title was switched between him and Mankind for some time. The Rock then lost it to Steve Austin at WrestleMania XV. He and Mankind allied after challenging WWF Tag Team Champions The Undertaker and The Big Show and subsequently won that title. As well as Mankind, The Rock has defended the Championship title against Kurt Angle, Triple H and Steve Austin. In 2000, The Big Show and The Rock had a Royal Rumble match. The Rock was announced as the winner but The Big Show demanded a rematch (which he won) after revealing footage proving that The Rock didn't win. In 2001, The Rock lost the Championship title to Austin at WrestleMania X-Seven and was later suspended after a match where Triple H intervened with a sledgehammer. When he returned, The Rock won the WCW Championship but the title was juggled over the next months with Chris Jericho. At the end of the year, he took another break from wrestling. On his second return, he won his record-breaking seventh WWF Championship title but lost it (and the record for the youngest WWE Champion) to Lesnar. He yet again took another hiatus. The Rock returned in 2003 to criticize Hulk Hogan and admit that WWE was no longer a major priority with his acting career taking off. He failed to win number one contendership for the World Heavyweight Championship before beating Steve Austin in a match that turned out to be Austin's last and their long-standing feud ended. The Rock took another hiatus after being defeated by Bill Goldberg but made various occasional returns. In 2004, he announced that his contract with WWE was over but he would continue to use his wrestling name. In 2008, he inducted his father Rocky Johnson and his grandfather Peter Maivia into the WWE Hall of Fame. In 2011 he was revealed as the host of WrestleMania XXVII. During a promo, he called John Cena a 'big fat bowl of Fruity Pebbles'. The pair had feuded on Twitter and eventually had a live slanging match before Wrestlemania XXVII after which John Cena performed his Attitude Adjustment move on him. At WrestleMania, The Rock took revenge by using Rock Bottom on Cena. Cena later challenged him to a match at WrestleMania XXVIII in 2012. However, the pair ended up becoming Tag Team partners against Awesome Truth - a match which ended with The Rock giving Cena a Rock Bottom. At WrestleMania XXVIII, The Rock finally faced Cena. He won but praised Cena for his efforts and became determined to become WWE Champion again - a title which was then held by CM Punk. In 2013, The Rock defeated CM Punk and won his eighth WWE Championship. Dwayne Johnson: Acting career Dwayne Johnson appeared in the video and featured his vocals in the 2000 Wyclef Jean single 'It Doesn't Matter'. His first TV acting roles include appearances on 'Star Trek: Voyager' and on 'That '70s Show'. He has also appeared in Disney Channel shows 'Cory in the House' and 'Wizards of Waverly Place'. His film debut came with his character as The Scorpian King in 'The Mummy Returns' - a role which he reprised as the title character in the movie's sequel. His other movies include 'The Game Plan', 'Get Smart', 'Race To Witch Mountain', 'Planet 51' as well as taking the title role in 2010's 'Tooth Fairy'. In 2011, he appeared in Fast and Furious movie 'Fast Five'; his biggest movie to date grossing $86 million in its first weekend. In 2012, he appeared in 'Journey 2: The Mysterious Island' as well as 'Snitch' in 2013. 2013 sees him star in 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation', ' Fast Six' and 'Pain & Gain'.

The $1 billion sale of his co-owned tequila brand Casamigos meant Clooney was miles ahead at the top of the 2018 Forbes list.
George Clooney has been named the highest-earning actor of the last year by Forbes in its annual list for 2018, making $239 million – but his massive income is mostly not down to acting.
Clooney’s pre-tax earnings, between June 2017 and June 2018, are the most that any actor has ever made in any 12-month period in history, according to Forbes.
However, 57 year old Clooney has had a comparatively quiet year in box office terms. Instead, his windfall earnings came from the sale of Casamigos, the tequila brand he founded with friends Rande Gerber and Mike Meldma in 2013, to global liquor company Diageo for $1 billion a year ago.

Dwayne Johnson Rock Bottoms Charlie Simpson's Snide 'Jumanji' Comment

The pair had a very brief Twitter war over the weekend.
The latest social media war sees two of the most unlikely people in the world crossing paths - them being Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Charlie Simpson from Busted and Fightstar. And weirdly enough it's all over the forthcoming sequel to 2017's 'Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle'.
The Rock and Lauren introduced their second child on Instagram this week; another girl, which means the former wrestler now has three daughters in total. He's certainly ready for the challenges that it will bring, and expressed his love for his new offspring with a beautiful photo.

Dwayne Johnson Confirms Planned 2019 Filming Start Date For 'Black Adam'

Dwayne Johnson is set to take the titular role in upcoming DC Extended Universe flick, 'Black Adam'.
Dwayne Johnson has revealed that he thinks his solo 'Black Adam' movie will begin filming at some point in 2019. The actor has been attached to the role of the DC character for some time, but has yet to officially join the DC Extended Universe up on the big screen. He's not filmed any scenes as the character even as an ensemble member of the cast in another DC Films project, as far as we know, so it looks like his first outing will be his own movie.
Despite that, excitement surrounding Johnson's DC role continues to build. Adam Sztykiel has delivered a script for the 'Black Adam' movie - following his writing on 'Rampage', which Johnson also leads - and all signs are proving to be positive that his direction is the one the movie will go in.

Dwayne Johnson takes on the lead role in new video game adaptation movie, 'Rampage'.
Written by Carlton Cuse and Ryan Condal, with Brad Peyton in the director's chair, comes new video game adaptation movie 'Rampage'. Based on the destructive classic arcade title from 1986, the film will delve a little deeper than just having a few big monsters destroying cities across America, bringing a heart to the franchise that has always been lacking.
Jimmy Kimmel took it upon himself to pass on Dwayne Johnson's message from the previous night to John Cena, which was essentially: 'If you ever act up I will knock your teeth so far down your throuat you'll have to stick a toothbrush up your ass to brush them.'

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has opened up about how he struggled with depression in his earlier years.
When somebody mentions Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, the majority of people would instantly think of his career within the World Wrestling Entertainment business, or the movie industry. Making waves and becoming one of the hottest properties in Hollywood, he's someone who is raking in the big bucks, and who many people would assume has had an easy time throughout his life. Of course, if you dig a little deeper, that's not the case at all.
Johnson has never been afraid to open up about his tough past. Struggling with depression, and living with a mother who was also going through the motions, he'd seen more than most people would see in their lives whilst just a young adult.

The WWE wrestler-turned-actor is bringing a new game show to fans.
Can you smell what Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is cooking? A brand new show for NBC! Johnson's production company Seven Bucks Production is joining forces with the producers of 'American Ninja Warrior', A. Smith & Co. Productions as well as Univeral Television Alternative Studio to bring new game show 'The Titan Games' to the network in the near future.
Said to "offer everyday people the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete in epic head-to-head challenges designed to test mind, body, and heart", the show will see contestants take to an arena to tackle one of six 'Titans' that are reigning supreme. If they manage to take down their competitor, they will steal their slot in the arena and send the former 'Titan' packing.

Musical About Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson Coming To London

The former WWE wrestler, now actor clearly has some big fans in the UK.
Whether you know him from his days being the face of World Wrestling Entertainment, or from his later work in some of the biggest movies of the modern day such as the recently released huge success that is 'Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle', Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has become a household name across the globe. Thanks to that popularity, the man himself has now become the subject of an upcoming musical in London.
Female collaborative writing group 'Nevertheless, She' have put together 'The People's Rock: A Musical', which is set in a dystopian future and brings to audiences a "teenage fantasy/religious role model hybrid of The Rock, as a bleak world attempts to curb momentary hope." Other characters include 'Emperor Trumpus' and a young girl who's navigating a world that's void of television, internet and democracy.

Rampage [2018] Trailer
Davis Okoye (Dwayne Johnson) is passionate about his job at Everglades National Park, particularly with regards to an intelligent ape, his best friend, named George. One night, some kind of missile hits George's enclosure which, upon inspection, sprays him with an unknown substance. The next morning, Davis arrives to find George cowering in his cave in obvious fear and pain, and Davis realises he has grown at least two feet since he last saw him and his weight has almost doubled.
With the help of scientist Dr. Kate Caldwell (Naomie Harris), they find the object that caused George's transformation, and deduces that it's part of some genetic editing technology being developed by the government. Of course, given that it's managed to find its way into the home of George - who, incidentally, is displaying more and more unpredictable behaviour - that means there's likely to be other 'edited' animals out there, something like... a 30-foot wolf, or a gigantic crocodile.
Davis protests about George being taken away by the military for testing, but this now-outsize ape can certainly take care of himself and is not about to become a science experiment if he can help it. But there might be a chance for Davis to get his friend back; there's talk of an antidote for the technology being created and it soon becomes clear that Davis is the only person willing to chance it than execute the innocent animals.
