Dave follows up an incendiary BRIT Awards performance with his latest illuminating single - 'Starlight'. The winner of this year's BRIT Award for 'Best Hip Hop/Grime/Rap Act' lit up the stage when he was joined by a Ghetts, Fredo, Giggs and Meekz for a spectacular show stealing finale to the annual awards ceremony held in February. Joined by a gospel choir and playing a flame throwing guitar, South-Londoner Dave once again gave the BRIT's something to remember him by.
Dave was nominated for four awards at the 2022 BRITs; namely the MasterCard Album of the Year for - 'We’re All Alone in This Together', Artist of the Year, Song of the Year for his number two hit single - 'Clash' and Best Hip Hop/Grime/Rap Act.
'Starlight' is Dave's first single of 2022 and his first new release not to be lifted from his second number one album, 'We’re All Alone in This Together'. 'Starlight' is also Dave's first single release since his five consecutive top ten 2021 hits - 'In The Fire', 'Verdansk', 'Clash', 'Titanium' and 'Money Talks'.
Dave's self-produced new track features a sample of Frank Sinatra's 1954 classic 'Fly Me To The Moon' and references Dave's own life as he raps about his youth, his upbringing, his money, his manor, his girlfriend and Meek Mill pictured counting money on his private jet.
The 'PSYCHODRAMA' singer-songwriter from Streatham even incorporates some of Sinatra's iconic words into his own composition as he sings - "Fly me to the moon, let me get some space, Seein' them stars on her private story, I dust that chick, she got no grace, (Let me see what spring is like on Jupiter)"
Dave is currently on tour in Europe but will return to the UK this summer when he is scheduled to play dates at the Reading and Leeds festival which takes place in August.
