Corden videoed himself secretly as he travelled through LAX completely without event.
In the wake of the chaos and outrage caused by Donald Trump’s executive order banning the entry of migrants from a number of Muslim-majority countries – known widely as the ‘Muslim ban’ – James Corden filmed his completely incident-free journey through Los Angeles airport by way of protest against the new law.
In a brief video he secretly filmed this week of his journey through LAX, after he secretly sets up a camera in the back of the car he’s being driven in, the 38 year old host of ‘The Late Late Show’ guided viewers through his experience.
In it, he checks in for his flight, passes through security, orders a grilled cheese sandwich and has a brief and friendly chat with an airline worker as he boards the plane, in what was a very smooth travelling process.
James Corden gave a subtle response to Donald Trump's 'Muslim ban'
The camera briefly pans to a handful of protestors bearing placards as he enters the airport, but other than that there’s no explicit references to the current trouble until a caption at the end of the video reads: “Freedom of movement should be this easy for all legal immigrants. Not just the white and Christian ones.”
Not an eventful video, but it contrasts sharply with the total chaos experienced by people travelling from seven Muslim-majority countries as the new Republican president Trump last week signed an executive order suspending the entire US refugee admissions system for 120 days, and the Syrian programme indefinitely.
On Tuesday (January 31st), Trump also fired his acting Attorney General, Sally Yates, who had been appointed by predecessor Barack Obama, as she refused to defend the executive order in court.
A number of legal challenges to the law have been mounted in the States, and protests around the world have erupted in response to it.
