Eisenberg, who plays Lex Luthor in the upcoming 'Batman v Superman' movie, was part of a Q&A panel at the San Diego convention.
Jesse Eisenberg apparently didn’t enjoy being at Comic-Con, likening his experience at the massive convention to “some kind of genocide”. We know the crowds can be a little forceful, but seriously?
Giving a reaction to this year’s annual sci-fi and comic fest to the Associated Press on Monday (July 13th), the actor made the somewhat questionable remarks. “It is like being screamed at by thousands of people,” he reflected, “I don’t know what the experience is throughout history, probably some kind of genocide. I can’t think of anything that’s equivalent.”
Jesse Eisenberg plays Lex Luthor in the new 'Batman v Superman' film
Eisenberg plays Lex Luthor in the forthcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice, for which a new full-length trailer was released during the week-long convention in San Diego. He and co-stars Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck were also in attendance, and Eisenberg was part of a panel which included Jeremy Irons and Holly Hunter.

Well, he certainly isn’t the first celebrity to be turned off by the experience. In 2008, Robert Pattinson of the Twilight cast said that being at Comic-Con and surrounded by the enthusiastic fans was “terrifying… the sound you'd hear at the gates of hell.”
Eisenberg made the remarks while doing red carpet promotion for a different film, The End of the Tour, a movie about the release of David Foster Wallace’s novel ‘The Infinite Jest’. Jason Segel plays Wallace, while Eisenberg plays a journalist, David Lipsky. He also had some pretty choice words to describe that profession, as well.
“Yes I have never been on the other side, on your side of journalism. I have normally been the victim so I worked with the guy who I play, I play a real person, David Lipsky,” he said. “I interviewed him. He taught me how to interview and what his process is like and now I understand the pariahs that you guys are.”
