Tyler Perry had no idea who was directing 'Gone Girl'.
Tyler Perry, the American actor, director and producer, who appears in David Fincher's Oscar-tipped movie Gone Girl, says he would have walked away from the movie had he known the filmmaker's body of work. At this point we should remind readers that Fincher - arguably one of the greatest directors of his generation - has helmed Se7en, Fight Club, Panic Room, The Game, Benjamin Button, Zodiac, The Social Network and the entire first season of House of Cards.
Ben Affleck stars as Nick Dunne in 'Gone Girl'
Nevertheless, Perry - known for Meet the Browns, or, something else - admitted: "I probably would have walked away from it. If I had known who David Fincher was, and his body of work, or if I'd known the book was so popular, I would have said, No.And my agent knew that! He didn't tell me until after I signed on!"

In fairness to Perry, he was complimentary of Fincher's presence on-set though did hint at being witness to one of the director's famous tantrums when a crew member's phone rang during filming.
"I could see (Fincher's) eyes turning, and before he could say anything, I said it was my phone," Perry told Yahoo News. "What's he going to do? I'm bigger than him!"
The latest trailer for Fincher's movie, starring Ben Affleck, debuted during the Emmys on Monday night (August 25, 2014) and it was pretty much more of the same. Based on Gillian Flynn's novel of the same name, the movie tells the story of Nick Dunne who is suspect of killing of his wife after her disappearance becomes the focus of an intense media circus.
Not released until October 3, 20th Century Fox have run a faultless marketing campaign so far, drip-feeding trailers and eventually letting viewers making up their minds about Dunne before watching movie - a unique and ingenious play.
