Actor/director Tyler Perry Has Donated $200,000 (£125,000) To Help Build A New Home For A Group Of Albino Children From Tanzania While They Receive Medical Treatment In The U.s.
The Gone Girl star was initially moved to act after watching a news report about the work of Staten Island, New York resident Elissa Montanti, who provides prosthetics to children affected by war and natural disasters through her charity, the Global Medical Relief Fund.
He previously invested in a home in Staten Island for visiting Tanzanian kids to call home while they are fitted for new hands, arms and legs after having various body parts dismembered in the African nation, where some believe the limbs can bring good luck and wealth, and now he has cut a new cheque to provide a comfortable four-bedroom property for other youths and their families while they undergo treatment with the help of Montanti's non-profit organisation.
Perry also treated Montanti's latest visitors to tickets to his comedy theatre show Madea on the Run at Manhattan's Beacon Theatre last week (ends04Sep15), when they were invited backstage to meet the star.
